Terms of service

These terms apply to your use of Ginkou ("the app"), operated by Victor Carvalho ("we"). By using the app you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

The app

Ginkou is a free tool for tracking your personal finances, with game elements such as XP, gems, quests and an island of the things you own. Gems and other in-game items have no monetary value and can't be bought, sold or exchanged for money.

Not financial advice

The app, its counselors and the optional AI chat provide general information and motivation only. Nothing in the app is financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Figures such as exchange rates, projections and "safe to spend" amounts are estimates and may be wrong. Make important decisions with a qualified professional.

Your account

• You may use the app without an account. Creating one is optional and free.
• Provide an email address you control and keep your sign-in details secure. You're responsible for activity on your account.
• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

Your data

You own the information you enter. You give us permission to store and process it only as needed to run the app for you, as described in our privacy policy. You can export it or delete your account at any time from Settings.

Acceptable use

Don't misuse the app: no attempts to access other people's data, disrupt or overload the service, reverse-engineer it to bypass security, or use it for anything illegal.

Optional third-party features

The counselor chat uses your own Anthropic API key. Its use is governed by your agreement with Anthropic, and any usage charges are billed to your Anthropic account. Signing in with Google is governed by Google's terms.

Availability and changes

We work to keep the app running and your data safe, but the app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. Features may change or be discontinued. Keep your own backups of anything important (Settings → Download backup).

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for financial decisions you make using the app. Our total liability for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you paid us to use it, which is zero.

Ending your use

You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that break these terms or put the service or other users at risk.

Changes to these terms

If we update these terms, we'll change the date above. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new terms.
